PPG 1st meeting 22nd July 2025

We were delighted to host our very first Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting this week/on Tuesday 22nd July 2025, bringing together patients from several local GP practice PPGs. This inaugural meeting marked an important step in creating a shared space where patients can come together, have their say, and actively contribute to shaping the development of both current and future services for their communities. It was a valuable opportunity to listen, learn, and begin building a collaborative approach to more responsive and patient-informed primary care.

We were also pleased to welcome guest speakers from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). Sharon Perdesi provided an engaging overview of the NIHR’s work and its vital role in supporting high-quality, patient-centred research. Claire and Stacey, from the NIHR Direct Delivery Team, spoke about the practical support they provide to GP practices to deliver research within primary care settings. Their input helped to highlight how patient involvement in research contributes to real improvements in care and how PPG members can play a part in shaping that future.

The next PCN PPG meeting will be held in October 2025 with the date and time still to be confirmed once feedback has been received from the group outlining their preferences.
